How do I know if I need to worm my dog?

Answer

We shouldn’t wait until we start seeing signs of worms before giving worming treatment to dogs, because infections don’t always show signs until they’re severe. Signs of worms can include weight loss, a bloated tummy, diarrhoea, vomiting and dogs scooting their bottoms along the ground (but these signs are not specific to worm infections – they can indicate other issues). Worm eggs are microscopic, but you might see worm segments (looking like grains of rice) in your dog’s stool or around their bum. Find out more about the symptoms of worms in dogs.
